Pre-care

  • Don’t forget to avoid excessive sun exposure two weeks before and after your HydraFacial treatment.
  • Wait for any cold sores, broken skin or open wounds to fully heal before having your treatment. If you feel the tingle of a cold sore coming on, wait for this to pass before having your treatment.
  • Cosmetic injecting and skin peel clients should leave two weeks between their last treatment and HydraFacial.

After-care

  • Your experienced Beauface therapist will provide post-treatment instructions and recommend home-care products so you can continue your treatment journey at home.
  • Things to avoid: Avoid direct sun exposure and products containing active ingredients for 24 hours. Don’t exfoliate for 7 days.
  • Day of treatment: Apply Sunscreen in the morning. Do not use any active skincare products on the skin.
  • 24 hours after your treatment: You can now continue to use your active-ingredient skincare

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

1 What is a HydraFacial Treatment?

HydraFacial is a no-downtime, non-surgical skin resurfacing treatment that achieves the results of an advanced facial in just 30 minutes. The secret to HydraFacial is a patented spiral tip that can exfoliate, clear blocked pores and deliver nourishing medical-grade serums in a single application. Immediately after treatment you will see a noticeable improvement in skin tone and texture.

HydraFacial delivers long-term skin health and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of all skin types. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and immediately effective.

2 What is a HydraFacial treatment good for?

HydraFacial delivers instantly noticeable changes that you can see and feel. With regular treatments, HydraFacial achieves long-lasting results and improvements in skin health. After a short series of HydraFacial treatments you’ll notice intensely improved hydration, minimised dark spots and reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. HydraFacial can also improve a number of common skin concerns including uneven skin tone and vibrancy, poor skin texture, brown spots, age spots, uneven pigmentation, congestion, acne and enlarged pores.

HydraFacial is not suitable for anyone that falls under the following categories:

4 Is HydraFacial like Microdermabrasion?

Not at all. Microdermabrasion mechanically removes the outer layer of dead skin cells. HydraFacial will also achieve this type of exfoliation but in a much gentler way due to the patented Vortex-Fusion technology. It also has the bonus of extracting dirt and oil from pores, stimulating skin cell regeneration with a custom chemical peel and infusing the skin with antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid for hydration. The results achieved are superior to that of just a microdermabrasion.

5 What does the HydraFacial treatment consist of?

HydraFacial works in several ways to enhance your appearance. It uncovers a new layer of skin by gently exfoliating and resurfacing. It also removes debris from pores with painless suction. Then, it nourishes with intense moisturisers that quench skin. Finally, HydraFacial saturates the skin’s surface with antioxidants and peptides to maximise your glow. Each part of the process works in harmony to achieve a much more impressive result than the steps could achieve individually.

6 What makes a HydraFacial different and how much does it cost?

HydraFacial is more than just a facial. The treatment involves advanced, patented vortex technology that deeply cleanses the skin and effectively delivers botanical ingredients containing nutrients such as hyaluronic acid, horse chestnut seed extract, red algae extract, copper, zinc and magnesium peptides to where they do the most good. HydraFacial also delivers powerful antioxidants to counteract free radicals – caused by pollution, sun and stress – which can degrade the skin and accelerate the ageing process. A single HydraFacial treatment at Beauface costs $220 with great value packages and programmes available.

7 How often should you get a HydraFacial?

We don’t believe in quick fixes. To get skin into optimal health, treatments can be performed fortnightly then move to monthly maintenance to improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots and oily or congested skin. Ongoing HydraFacial treatments are highly recommended to maintain skin health results.

8 How long do HydraFacials last?

HydraFacial delivers immediate results and many clients report seeing visible improvements in skin tone or texture after just one treatment. The smoothness and hydration may last 5 to 7 days or even longer after the first treatment. Even better, the results will last longer with each additional HydraFacial treatment.

9 What can you expect after treatment?

Skin may experience temporary irritation, tightness, or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within 72 hours depending on skin sensitivity. You may experience tingling and stinging in the treatment area. These sensations generally subside within a few hours.

You will likely see results immediately after treatment and your skin may feel smooth and hydrated for 1-4 weeks with appropriate homecare to maintain treatment results. Skin is more susceptible to sunburn or son damage. Avoid excessive sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 30 sunscreen.

10 Can I have a HydraFacial treatment if I am allergic to shellfish?

  • Because there is a glucosamine HCL (or HCL) in activ-4 skin solution, there is very slight chance of having a shellfish allergic reaction if you are topically allergic to shell fish (crab, lobster or shrimp,)
  • What percentage of glucosamine in the ingredient blend is less than 1%
  • It may not cause an allergic reaction at all, but we highly recommend doing a patch test first and/or ask a physician prior to having treatment
  • In this case we can swap Activ-4 for BetaHD

11 Can I have a Hydrafacial if I am allergic to aspirin?

  • Our GlySal and Beta-HD Clear contain Salicylic which is an ingredient found within aspirin
  • There are numerous Acne OTC products or cosmetics containing SA at same or higher level as we do, and none of them caution their uses
  • If in doubt, we can try a patch test on your skin and look for a visual reaction
  • We can also swap BetaHD Clear for Activ-4
